Pastor

We have a new shepherd to guide our flock.

The historic First Presbyterian Church of Dade City is pleased to welcome our new pastor, the Rev. Dr. Cheryl Duke and her husband, Elder Dick Wenzel to Dade City and to our church family. The church is located at the heart of the Dade City historic district and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.

Pastor Duke began her ministry with us on January 7 by leading us to sing and understand the meaning behind the song,”The 12 Days of Christmas”.  We learned that 12 Drummers drumming represents the 12 essential tenants of the reformed faith, and 11 pipers piping was the 11 faithful disciples, the 10 lord a leaping represent the 10 commandments….all the way down to a partridge in a pear tree which is our Lord Jesus Christ.

On January 14, we joined the lovely folk at Love One Another.  We cooked, delivered and served over 100 meals of spaghetti, salad, and cookies to our guests.  15 members of our congregation took part in the fun.

This week, Dade City plays host to the Kumquat Festival, and the congregation is looking forward to showing our new pastor how to enjoy a kumquat.
